The Everest cultural trek is dignified as easy trekking in Nepal, tourists do not need prior trekking experiences and they can do with their family members as well. Everest cultural heritage trek is also suitable who has problem of high altitude sickness and have limited time. You will be exploring below the 4000m altitudes in the Everest region till Namche Bazaar and Tengboche. You will be able to see the various breaths taking panoramic views of some of the highest mountain in the world including the Mt. Everest from Namche Bazaar Thyangboche and Tengboche. Everest cultural heritage trek brings you up close to the Sherpa people and their heartland of Khumbu region. Everest cultural heritage trek till Namche bazaar and Tengboche offers magnificent Himalayan culture, life style, Sherpa culture museum, traditions and living style of the Sherpa people, traditional Sherpa villages, Buddhist monasteries, snow-capped peaks and diverse flora and fauna.
Everest cultural heritage trek begins by visiting the medieval City of Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa in the morning and doing trek preparation in the afternoon, which are listed under the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. After visiting world heritage sites and preparing for trek in Kathmandu, next day we will take 30 minutes scenic mountain flight to Lukla (2840m). Lukla is the heart of Solu Khumbu and the starting point of our trekking. The trek continues through Sagarmatha National Park, where you will explore the diverse flora and fauna of Khumbu region. On the second day of our trek, the trail follows the Valley of Dudh Koshi River to reach to Namche Bazar. Everest culture heritage trek takes trekkers to climb above Namche bazar for excellent view of Everest and other Khumbu region mountains such as Amadablam, Lhotse, Kusum Kangaru,  Kangtega, Thamserku, Kongde etc. After having one-day rest in Namche bazar Next day we reach the famous Tengboche Monastery that serves as spiritual center of the Buddhist Sherpa of Everest region. Then the Everest cultural heritage trek descends back to Khumjung village, Thame, Monjo and Lukla. From Lukla we take breath taking mountain flight to Kathmandu.

Day by day Itinerary for Everest cultural heritage trek route
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1310m)
Upon arrival at the airport in Kathmandu, meet and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, you have an option to be escorted on a stroll around Thamel and the local streets of Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing & trek preparation
After breakfast start sightseeing covering Kathmandu Durbar  Square  and Swayambhunath  stupa.  These two sites are also UNESCO world heritage site. Kathmandu Durbar Square area holds the palaces of the medieval Kings who ruled over the Kathmandu Kingdom. Swayambhunath meaning the “the self-existent” is popular among the foreigners as Monkey Temple remaining to the large number of monkey population residing in this area. In the afternoon you will get short briefing and discussion regarding trekking.

Day 03: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m)30min & Trek to Phakding (2650m)
Trekking distance 8 kms – Approximately 3 Hours walk
Early in the morning transfer to domestic airport to board a flight to Lukla (2810m) and which takes about 30 minutes. The flight to Lukla will be one of the scenic lifetime experiences as you fly over the majestic rocky spiky mountain. Note: because of the weather condition there is high chances of cancelling the flight schedule and some times need to wait for long hours. Upon arrival at Lukla start trekking until we reach to Phakding. The trail to Phakding lets you discover the green landscape with a scenic view of Kusum Kang Karu Mountain; beautiful Chaurikharka village on the bank of the Dudhkosi River is another highlights. Walking about 3 hours up and down we reach to Phakding in the afternoon. Today is our first day of trekking and we don’t walk much. If you are interested you can explore the village and Monastery in the evening.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (340m) 
Trekking distance 10.5km approximately 6 Hours walks
After breakfast start trekking through a beautiful pine forest that leads us along the Dudh Koshi River and Hillary Suspension Bridge to reach to Monjo and starting point of Sagarmatha National Park. Here we stop at check post of TIMS & National Park permit. The trail passes through the Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi River, Jorsalle village, Large Dovan and cross one of the highest bridge over the Dudh Kosi River of Everest region and reach to Chautara from where we can see the first glimpse of the Mt. Everest. Further walking about one hour steep up we reach to Namche bazar. Namche bazar is one of the trading points for Sherpa people. It is also ideal market for visitors to purchase traditional crafts. If you missed any trekking gears don’t worry you can buy some trekking gears over here as well. Every Saturday there would be local street market, do not miss if you are there on Saturday.

Day 05: Acclimatization, Optional hike to Syangboche for Everest view (3880m)
Today is the schedule for acclimatization. However, we do not spend worth less at the lodge. It is highly suggested to climb up and stay overnight at low altitude so our body can adjust the high altitude climate. In the morning visit near by attraction; Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest photo Gallery, which is just 15-minute walking distance from Namche Bazar. From the museum you can have the spectacular picturesque Mountain View and take some photographs. Then start trekking to Everest view hotel passing through Syangboche Airport (3700m), which is situated at the highest altitude, takes about 2 hours. We climb further to reach Mt. Everest View Hotel for great panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Tawache, Kusum Kangkaru, Thamserku, Kongde and many more. Enjoy the spectacular view of mountains including Mt. Everest from the nearest destination with some tea or coffee then trek back to Namche Bazar.

Day 06: Namche bazar to Tengboche (3870m) 
Trekking Distance 10 kms – Approximately 6 Hours walk 
Take breakfast early in the morning and start trekking forpm Namche bazar to Tengboche. On the way trekking trail offers the spectacular majestic views of mountains and natural beauties. The trail passes through Kayangjuma, Sansa and descends about 300m and reach to Dudh Koshi suspension Bridge. After crossing the River the trail is steep up ascend about 500m and we reach on the hilltop called the Tangboche village. Tengboche is a wonderful place for scenic views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse and Mt. Ama Dablam and It has the biggest Buddhist monastery (3860m) called Tengboche Monastery. The structure of monastery for the first time was built I in 19 23 AD. In 1934, it was destroyed by earthquake and rebuilt. It was destroyed by fire again in 1989 and rebuilt with the help of volunteers and the provision of foreign aid. Explore the village, local people and the Tangbuche monastery in the evening.

Day 07: Tengboche to Khumjung (3780m)
Trekking Distance 8 kms – Approximately 5 Hours walk 
In the morning you can visit the Monastery to observe the Buddhist culture and in the monastery. Then We follow the trail descending the hillside occupied with Rhododendron forest, Pine and Juniper trees. The trail descends about 500m and reach to the Dudh Koshi River then cross the suspension bridge. Then follow the trail steep ascend about one hour to reach to Sansa and Kenjoma (3550m) through the pine forest and reach to Khumjung village in another hour. In the evening interact with the local Sherpa people to explore the culture tradition and living style located at the heart of the Everest region.

Day 08 : Khumjung to Thame (3820m.)
Trekking Distance 8 kms – Approximately 5 Hours walk 
In the morning explore the  Khumjung High school and interact with school teachers and students.Trek from Khumjung to Thame (3820m.) via Khunde village, takes about five hours. Thame is a place where you can visit many ancient monasteries. You will be able to experience the real Sherpa culture. From Thame you can take a glance at the spectacular Mountain View.

Day 09 : Thame to Phakding (2610 m) 
Trekking Distance 10 kms – Approximately 5 Hours walk 
Here you have two options to trek to phakding . One is you can trek via Namche bazar and another is via Kongde. Via Kongde is Trek from Thame to Phakding.   While trekking from Thame to phakding you come across few Sherpa settlements and you will meet friendly Sherpa people. Trekking this day is little bit easier in comparison to other days. 

Day 10: Trek Phakding  to Lukla (2840m) 
Trekking distance 8 kms – Approximately 3 Hours walk
Today is our final day for trekking all the way from Phakding  to Lukla following the lower altitude trail in the Khumbu region. We walk passing various Sherpa settlements enjoying the dense forest area covered by beautiful rhododendron and pine trees. We will also see many monasteries that resemble unique Buddhist culture and tradition. Upon arrival at Lukla we will have a relaxing time at the hotel and make preparation to fly back to Kathmandu for the next day.

Day 11: Fly back Lukla to Kathmandu (1310m) 35 min flight
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu will take 30 minutes of amazing scenic mountain flight lands you in the domestic terminal of the airport. Up on arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel and in the afternoon enjoys as leisure. Remember there is high chance of cancelling flight because of the weather condition. We do have some evidence trekkers had to stay for 3 days because of the weather condition. So be prepared and make one leisure day in Kathmandu so that you can be safe.

Day 12: Leisure day in Kathmandu

It's also spare day in case of bad weather in Lukla. Remember, there are high chances of cancelling flights because of weather condition in Lukla. You have option to stroll around the local tourist market in Kathmandu to observe the living style of local people in Kathmandu valley. You can observe the traditional houses, arts and crafts, local people selling clothes, fruits and vegetable around Indrachook and Ashanon located on the North Part of the Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Day 13: Departure

Transfer to the airport by private vehicle according to your flight schedule.
